Windhorse staff members are second to none. They treat you not like a patient or client, but like a human being.

— Alejandro, Windhorse Alum

Windhorse is always seeking compassionate individuals to become part of our team. We seek individuals who have a strong sense of their own basic sanity, and confidence in the basic sanity and health of others. We encourage our staff to have a mindfulness or contemplative practice to help cultivate the capacity for being present, available, and attuned to those we support. Most members of our staff have a background that aligns well with Windhorse philosophy and approach. In particular, our organization seeks to find individuals that are willing to look beyond clinical diagnoses and treat clients with the dignity they deserve.

Volunteer Opportunities

Board Member

Windhorse Integrative Mental Health (WIMH) is  looking for people with a contemplative practice, some experience with people in extreme mindstates, and/or business acumen to join our board of directors!

Windhorse IMH is celebrating our 30th year as an alternative to residential treatment. Windhorse uses mindfulness-informed clinical teams and therapeutic households to support our clients’ recovery journey. Extreme, life-disrupting mind states are often paired with isolation, but recovery is best discovered in relationship. By cultivating genuine and compassionate connection, we invite our clients to relax into who they are authentically — beneath turmoil and distress — reconnecting at their own pace with others and the world around them.

To support our mission, we are expanding our board with three key objectives: to offset board retirements, contribute to our next generation strategic plan and to enhance governance and transition planning. Windhorse IMH is well managed with a proven executive team. We have a strong balance sheet and have recently completed significant capital investment in residential facilities for each of our three locations. (Northampton, MA; San Luis Obispo, CA; Portland, OR)

A primary responsibility of the Board of Directors is to participate in policy or planning meetings held every six to eight weeks. Meetings typically last about 90 minutes. We expect the board to be an active one and to ensure that the organization has the leadership and oversight to fulfill it’s mission.

As you consider this opportunity please review our website and address questions or interest to Victoria Yoshen at 413-586-0207 ext 102 or [email protected]
