My only regret about Windhorse is that I didn’t find it sooner. The Windhorse model works like no other! It offers an intensive therapeutic environment that does not entail hospitalization or residential care and is ultimately more cost-effective than either.

We are ready to greet you with a mindful ear, open heart, and deeper insight into how Windhorse can support you and your family. Together, we will determine if Windhorse is the right fit for you or your loved one by conducting a comprehensive assessment. After the initial phone call, the next step generally involves choosing one of our three locations for an in-person visit, where you will have the opportunity to tour the office and residences, meet the clinical staff, and explore the surrounding city. During the visit, you may also get to experience a one-on-one Basic Attendance shift with a clinician to develop a better sense of how our treatment program works. Though we highly encourage an office visit prior to admission, it is not mandatory. We realize that some individuals require an expedited admission process to ensure stability and continuity of care. Windhorse remains flexible and accommodating to meet the needs of our potential clients so that the admission process may be as smooth and seamless as possible.
Financial Information
Windhorse is a private pay, not-for-profit organization. Our relationship-based model of healing provides clients with an extraordinary quantity and quality of individualized, one-on-one treatment. We find that most of our clients are able to sustain their recovery, allowing them to live increasingly independent lives.
Windhorse services are not covered by insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. Despite the passage of the Mental Health Parity Act, insurers continue to deny coverage for long-term mental health care by dictating the length of stay. We request a minimum commitment of 6 months to allow time for the integration and relationship-building that is critical to recovery.
We encourage you to contact us for more specific information about our fees.
