Staff & Volunteers
Staff
are attracted to Windhorse for the opportunity to work closely with a
small number of clients and dedicated colleagues. They are selected for
their extensive skills and experience, and their high degree of
commitment to working with people living with mental distress. Senior
clinical staff at Windhorse have advanced degrees in psychology,
counseling, social work or nursing and are licensed in their
disciplines. Most come with experience in contemplative or mindfulness
practice in some form. All staff receive on-going training in Windhorse
clinical methods. A psychiatrist works closely with the nurse on each
clinical team, as appropriate, to optimize medication regimes.
Staff
are committed to building relationships with clients which balance
constructive work with friendship. They share the conviction that no
life is a closed book, and that inherent in each person is the ability
to recover.

"Windhorse
is a healing community, its staff wholly committed to creating and
sustaining an environment of respect, health and growth for clients,
families and one another. In my long career in mental health it
represents the best I've experienced of people working together toward
meeting the issues of severe psychological problems."
